What is FindHue?
FindHue is a daily color-matching photo game: every day, everyone in the world gets the same color to find. Take a photo of something in that color, see how close you got, and share your best find ("your Find") with friends.

Camera issues
The camera won't open. FindHue only asks for camera access the first time you tap Take Photo. If you said no, or turned it off later:
- Open your device's Settings app.
- Go to Privacy & Security → Camera.
- Find FindHue and turn it on. On some iOS versions you can also use Settings → Apps → FindHue.
- Close and reopen FindHue, then try again.
Publishing and network issues
Every confirmed attempt is saved privately on-device. A failed publish does not destroy it; temporary network failures may retry while that challenge remains open. Once the midnight PST cutoff has passed, that challenge can no longer be published or replaced, but the attempt remains in local history.
"This photo can't be shared" (moderation)
Every photo you publish is automatically checked before your friends can see it. If a photo doesn't pass that check, it's held back — your friends never see it, and it's not lost either: it stays in your own private history like any other attempt, and you can try again with a different photo. If you think a photo was blocked in error, contact us above.
If instead you see "We couldn't check this Find right now,", the moderation check could not complete. The photo stays local/private; FindHue may retry automatically when the app returns to the foreground, and you can try again later. A failure never auto-approves a Find.
Friends and invite codes
- Adding a friend: open Friends → the "+" icon, then enter their 6-character invite code or scan their QR code. This sends them a friend request; you'll become friends once they accept it.
- Groups: Friend Group invite codes are 8 characters, and work the same way (enter or scan).
- Code not working? Codes are case-insensitive. The invite alphabet excludes 0, O, 1, and I; if you see one, it was likely misread or copied incorrectly. Regenerating a code invalidates the old one.
- Blocked someone by accident? Settings → Blocked people → Unblock. Unblocking doesn't restore the old friendship automatically — one person must send a new friend request and the other accept it. Shared Friend Group membership is not automatically changed.
Rewarded ads — Watch an ad for extra Find submissions
- Everyone gets 3 free Find submissions or replacements per challenge day; one verified rewarded ad can unlock one additional Find submission. Captures, scoring, and private history remain unlimited.
- "No ad available right now" usually means Google did not have an eligible rewarded ad available for that request. Your saved Find is unaffected; try again later.
- Watched the ad but didn't get credit? Server-side verification can take up to roughly one minute. Closing early may grant no reward.
- Something in an ad seemed inappropriate or age-inappropriate? Let us know — see Contact us above — including roughly when you saw it, so we can follow up with our ad provider.
Notifications
FindHue can send you one local reminder a day (Settings → Reminders) — it's generated entirely on your device, so it works even offline, and always shows that day's real color. If it's not arriving:
- Open your device's Settings app.
- Go to Apps → FindHue → Notifications → Allow Notifications. Depending on your iOS version, Settings → Notifications → FindHue may also be available.
- Make sure notifications are turned on.
- In FindHue, confirm Settings → Reminders is switched on with a time set.
Save account with Apple
FindHue begins anonymously. Settings → Save account with Apple links Apple sign-in to your existing account; it should not create an unrelated second account or erase current Find or social data.
Deleting your account
- Open FindHue → tap the gear icon (Settings).
- Scroll to Account.
- Tap Delete account, then confirm.
Delete account is permanent and removes the server-side identity and associated social/account data; cloud-object cleanup may finish asynchronously. If you'd like your locally-saved history removed instead, use Settings → Clear all records, which removes private local history from that device and is not online account deletion. See our Privacy Policy for exactly what each of these does.
Reporting and appeals
Report a Find in the app with a reason and optional note. The reported user is not told who filed the report. For urgent concerns, contact Support; for immediate danger, contact local emergency services. You may also contact Support to appeal a suspension, restriction, or termination; not every appeal results in reversal.
